Principal Renewable Energy Manager

About You

  •  You have a genuine passion for sustainability and net zero solutions, and a willingness to work collaboratively across the organisation to contribute to our net zero ambition.
 
  • You have significant experience of working in a renewable energy industry and a proven track record of delivering energy related initiatives, preferably in relation to decarbonisation of power.
     
  • You are likely to be a natural communicator, with an ability to engage with a wide range of sectors from communities to private businesses to identify and deliver decarbonisation opportunities across our estate.
     
  • You will have detailed technical knowledge of energy and energy related projects, regulatory knowledge and expertise within the energy industry, knowledge of funding and financial models


About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to develop and lead on the delivery of our renewable energy plan across our estate, directly contributing to our ambition to reduce carbon emissions as part of our journey to Net Zero 2030, which is a key priority in our Sustainability Plan.

Working as part of our Sustainability Department you will collaborate across the organisation to  identify, agree and implement opportunities to provide innovative, sustainable solutions to our existing and planned mine water treatment infrastructure, which will reduce carbon emissions, enhance value for money and help us adapt to the impacts of climate change.
 
You will manage the day to day operation and maintenance of the Coal Authority’s energy assets, maximising income and ensuring systems remain safe and compliant with required legislation, including the ethical sourcing of solar panels and oversight of renewable energy at our Mansfield Head office.

Role location:  This role can be based anywhere in the UK with occasional travel to the Mansfield office and site visits required
