To be successful in this role you will have;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid programming skills
  • Experience in working on bespoke enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of open source languages, tools and frameworks
  • Experience in test driven development (TDD) and test automation
  • Involvement with all aspects of software delivery and the development life cycle, from inception to delivery
  • Experience in Agile software delivery methodology and technical practices
You'll have experience in these technologies;
  • Java: JBOSS, Spring Boot and other Spring projects, JPA/Hibernate
  • Service oriented architectures: RESTful, SOAP
  • Core web development: HTML, CSS, User Interface Design
  • Development of rich internet applications: JavaScript
  • Unified modelling language (UML)
  • Relational databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • Cloud development: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker

About The Role

Working collaboratively as part of a DEVOPS team, you will have the opportunity to work on modern cloud applications, help support and modernise our legacy systems and help us continue our migration to the cloud.
This is a unique opportunity, giving you the chance to work with the very latest software development platforms on AWS. You'll work on customer facing e-commerce, b2b and back-office delivery systems, and also support the operational business by developing and integrating Java & GIS web-based solutions.

The successful candidate will have a mix of front and back end skills, a passion for coding and be able to talk to people at a technical level about designs and code.

 
With a salary of £56,375 and an employer pension contribution of in excess of £15,000 this is a great opportunity to join the team and make a difference.
