Research and Design Manager - Mine Heat

About You
Do you want to play a key role supporting the repurposing of Britain’s abandoned mine workings to provide secure, low carbon mine water heating schemes ?
If so, this is your chance to be part of a fast moving an innovative team who are facilitating mine water heating projects across Great Britain, making a better future for people and the environment in mining areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a team of high performing people from a variety of backgrounds including academia, applied hydrogeological research, hydrogeological consultancy and coal mining remediation.

About The Role
We are looking for someone who can support the Principal R&D Manager to facilitate targeted research to address questions relating to sustainable development and deployment of mine water energy schemes.

You will collaborate with academics, researchers, government and the private sector to build research focused partnerships.

You will also support internal R&D projects which could include drilling of monitoring boreholes or analysis of hydrogeological data.
You will also support our advisory services manager as required to support the delivery of mine water heat feasibility studies and provision of support for active mine energy projects, this may involve fieldwork.
This role will appeal to you if you are a highly organised and technically competent person who is passionate about delivering high quality research that can help to underpin our decision making, licensing and sustainable deployment of low carbon heating solutions in mining areas.
