Renewable Energy Specialist
Help turn renewable energy opportunities into working assets with lasting environmental benefits.
We are expanding renewable energy across our unique operational estate and need a practical, commercially aware specialist to help shape projects from first idea through to operation.
You will influence investment decisions, solve real-world site challenges and see your designs deliver measurable progress towards net zero.
What you’ll do
- Visit Mine Water Treatment Scheme sites to identify renewable energy opportunities and constraints.
- Produce and review detailed ground-mounted solar PV designs, including battery storage options.
- Assess technical, financial and operational feasibility, covering grid capacity, planning, cost, risk and deliverability.
- Develop business cases and present clear recommendations to senior decision-makers.
- Support construction, operation and performance optimisation across our growing renewable energy portfolio.
You may be a Solar PV Designer, Renewable Energy Engineer or Project Engineer looking for a role with broader influence.
You will bring practical solar PV experience and understand what makes a project technically sound, commercially viable and deliverable.
- Experience producing or reviewing ground-mounted solar PV designs.
- Confidence assessing feasibility and finding practical solutions to site constraints.
- Awareness of grid, planning, battery storage and project cost considerations.
- The ability to explain technical information clearly to different audiences.
- A curious, proactive approach and a genuine commitment to a lower-carbon future.
This is much more than a design role.
You will help shape an ambitious renewable energy programme with future potential across solar PV, battery storage, wind and hydro—and influence projects from concept to operation.
