About the Role CBW has been engaged to recruit an experienced Project Manager within the smoke control sector.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor and take full ownership of two high-value projects (each £1m+), managing them from inception through to completion.

As Project Manager, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

This pivotal role offers genuine progression opportunities for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage smoke control projects (£1m+) from planning through to handover.
  
  
• Coordinate with design, site, and commercial teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  
  
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  
  
• Chair project meetings, track progress, and provide regular reporting.
  
  
• Manage budgets, variations, and cost control to ensure profitability.
  
  
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.
  
  
• Mentor and support junior team members, promoting a collaborative culture.
  
  

• Proven track record in managing smoke control or building services projects, ideally £1m+.
  
  
• Strong technical knowledge of smoke ventilation (natural & mechanical systems).
  
  
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  
  
• Commercially astute, with experience in budget and cost management.
  
  
• Highly organised, detail-driven, and proactive problem solver.
  
  
• Must be UK-based with the right to work in the UK.
  
  

• Competitive salary £55,000 – £65,000 (DOE) + package.
  
  
• Responsibility for major, high-value projects.

• Monday–Friday role, Guildford-based with occasional site travel.
