Senior Electrical Tester

Job Title: Electrical Tester - Cambridge - Commercial Building -  £46,000 + Package  

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Tester to join our Building Services team in Cambridge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the periodic inspection, testing, and certification of LV electrical installations, as well as supervising associated remedial works and planned maintenance activities.

This role plays a key part in ensuring electrical safety, compliance, and operational continuity across the site.

Package & Working Hours

• Salary: £46,000 per annum
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Flexibility Required: The role requires flexibility to work outside standard hours, including antisocial hours, to meet operational and testing requirements
• Holiday Entitlement: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

• Carry out Group 1 and Group 2 electrical inspection and testing on LV electrical installations
• Complete remedial works identified during inspection and testing activities
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance and general electrical maintenance tasks
• Perform safety checks and electrical tests upon completion of maintenance works, ensuring all results are accurately documented
• Potential to expand scope of works to include fixed wire testing and RCD testing
• Liaise with the Electrical Operations Manager regarding plant, system, or equipment failures
• Arrange and request the supply of materials, spares, and specialist services as required
• Liaise directly with suppliers and contractors, including collecting materials from supplier premises when necessary
• Support the operational team to ensure full contract compliance
• Ensure strict adherence to all FS policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements
  
  

• Recognised time-served electrical apprenticeship in contracting or maintenance
• Level 3 Electrical Installations qualification
• IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2018 + A2:2022 (18th Edition)
• AM2 Qualification
• City & Guilds 2391 or 2394 & 2395 – Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations
• CSCS Safety Passport or equivalent health & safety card
