Director of Asset Management – Integrated renewable energy

Role

Climate17 are working with a leading renewable energy consultancy who specialise in the delivery and management of Solar PV, energy storage, and EV infrastructure within the built environment.

The Director of Asset Management will grow the Asset Management business unit; leading the sale, implementation and operation of their asset management services focussed on the technical and commercial performance of renewable assets across Europe.

Responsibilities
 

  • Lead and develop the Asset Management (AM) team, overseeing the technical and commercial performance of PV and EV assets across Europe.
  • Manage the business unit’s P&L, reporting directly to the Chief Executive.
  • Deliver significant growth, particularly in the UK and Europe.
  • Set and monitor KPIs to drive team performance, ensuring accountability and excellence.
  • Identify new business opportunities for asset management services.
  • Prepare and deliver new business proposals to win new clients and additional business from existing customers.
  • Develop a marketing plan to drive the delivery of the AM business unit P&L.
  • Ensure that the systems managed by the asset management business unit meet performance targets in line with client contracts.
  • Establish and maintain quality control processes to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Oversee onboarding of new systems, providing regular updates and reports to CEO.
  • Identify and mitigate risks across portfolios to safeguard business interests.
  • Build and manage supply chains, including contractors, metering platforms, monitoring platforms, and technical advisers, to meet client needs.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including tender development, contract negotiation, and supply chain performance monitoring.
  • Ensure high standards in service delivery, health & safety, commercial performance, and risk management across the portfolio.
  • Deliver the budgeted P&L of the asset management business unit
  • Introduce innovative solutions that improve client services and business operations.

Requirements
 
  • Proven track record in the technical management of renewable energy assets (EV, PV, BESS) or transferable experience from managing third-party assets (e.g., HVAC, heating controls, building control systems) in a commercial property environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen, experience in managing technical and financial performance.
  • Demonstrable experience in effectively managing teams.
  • Proficiency in using software solutions for managing large data sets and asset performance.
  • Familiarity with European markets and the ability to manage portfolios of assets in a commercial property environment across multiple countries (desirable)
