Senior Manager - Decarbonisation
 
Our client is an international non-profit organisation that work with global businesses and governments with the highest carbon emissions and greatest opportunity to drive change and maximise impact particularly across the concrete, steel and heavy industry sectors.  They have been established for 20 years and are driving forward with successful programmes, with support and commitment from large organisations.

They are working collectively with a common goal to shift global markets and policies towards faster carbon emission reduction.


 
They are recruiting a Senior Manager to develop, deliver and expand their NetZero Concrete programme, continuing with the next phase of plans as they accelerate ahead with their campaign to drive maximum impact and continue the success.  This is a role that would suit a true sustainability professional, who is looking for the next step in their purpose-driven career.
 
The Role
 
As Senior Manager it is vital that you have a good understanding of decarbonisation and the new innovations surrounding concrete, or similar hard to abate industries.

Key tasks include:
 

  • Lead the delivery, scoping and strategy development of the concrete programme and wider concrete related work.
  • Manage and evolve existing and new relationships to meet campaign aims, including working closely with technical advisors.
  • Lead the global programme team to organise key events including seminars, workshops and member meetings.
  • Act as representative, attending international, national and regional forums and events.
  • Steer the development and implementation of the communications strategy.
  • Work in close collaboration with internal teams including communication and fundraising teams, along with other programme teams and international offices to support the wider delivery.
  • Lead tactical thinking and work with Governments & Policy team to identify and deliver policy-focused goals of the programme.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in concrete and heavy industry sectors relating to decarbonisation within the broader context of geo-political and macro-economic events.
 
The company are based in smart central London office with excellent ‘green’ facilities, they operate a hybrid work pattern and have a great sense of community.


 
Requirements
  • Evident passion and commitment to the decarbonisation of heavy industry and awareness of the challenges the sector face on their journey to NetZero
  • Experience gained within private sector with a clear understanding of the commercial drivers in both the private and public sector.
  • Previous success in developing and delivering impactful projects and/or campaigns and leading strategy development and implementation.
  • Team leadership experience, with the ability to identify where support is needed and comfortable delivering a range of administrative and strategic activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a range of cultural contexts and a varying level of seniority.

     
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a desire to find innovative solutions.
  • Experience working on advocacy, capacity building and/or technical assistance projects aimed at private sector and/or public sector (preferably in climate-related issues).
  • Flexibility for some international travel.
