Practice Bookkeeper

Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 per annum | Permanent | Full-Time

About the Role
We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a large national, highly respected and award-winning chartered accountancy practice based in High Wycombe, for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their friendly and professional team.
This is a varied and client-facing role where you will take ownership of bookkeeping responsibilities for a diverse portfolio of clients, working closely with the wider accounts team to deliver an excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing sales and purchase ledger transactions for a range of clients
• Bank reconciliations on a regular basis
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Assistance with management accounts preparation
• Raising queries directly with clients and resolving bookkeeping issues
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records using cloud-based software
• Supporting the accounts team with ad hoc bookkeeping tasks

• Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within a UK accountancy practice
• Proficient with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
• AAT qualified or QBE (Qualified by Experience)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload effectively

• Salary of £28,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
