Payroll Administrator | Milton Keynes (Hybrid) | £30,000 – £38,000 | Permanent, Full-Time

We're recruiting a Payroll Administrator on behalf of a growing, well-regarded accountancy practice in the Milton Keynes area.

You'll own your own portfolio of payroll clients, delivering an accurate, responsive service while enjoying the flexibility, support and progression that come with being part of a thriving team.

This is a practice where payroll is valued as a core client service, not an afterthought — so you'll have the autonomy to run your clients well and the backing to develop your skills further.

What you'll be doing:
- Owning a portfolio of payroll clients and being their first point of contact
- Running weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls end to end
- Handling statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP
- Administering workplace pensions — auto-enrolment, submissions and re-declarations
- Calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses and deductions accurately
- Managing CIS returns and CIS suffered
- Dealing with HMRC to resolve queries
- Administering Benefits in Kind and related reporting
- Supporting billing and credit control on payroll work where needed

What you'll bring:
- A client-first attitude and strong, clear communication
- At least 4 years' payroll experience within an accountancy practice
- Confidence managing multiple payrolls and client relationships at once
- Solid knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, NI, pensions and statutory payments
- CIS and workplace pension administration experience
- A firm grasp of GDPR and the importance of confidentiality
- BrightPay experience preferable
- Meticulous accuracy and strong organisation
