Exciting opportunity to work in house for a critical data centre situated in Slough, Berkshire.

CBW are currently recruiting for a Data Centre Shift Engineer to be based on a data centre located in Slough.

The successful candidates will be electrically or mechanically qualified with a proven track record working with building maintenance.

In return, the company is offering a competitive salary paying £55,000, further training (Including HV), overtime and career progression.


Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Daily facilities inspection and maintenance for Data Centre MEP facilities.
  • Perform re-lamping and facilities repairs.
  • Supervise Vendors to carry out scheduled facilities maintenance during weekend.
  • Escort Vendors for regular cleaning in Data Halls/ Critical areas
  • Escalate problem & incident to Engineer or Manager.
  • Qualified electrically, ideally has an understanding/ qualified mechanically
  • Incident handling.
  • Assist Manager / Engineer to handle Customers’ IT equipment racks & equipment move-in
  • Provide 7 x 24 shift duty service.
  • Manage and Monitor the Data Centre Infrastructure Management System (DCIM) and all sub systems including but not limited to BMS, PMS, and SMS.

    Assist Engineer to update Inventory list / Asset list …etc.
  • Coordinate with local utility company and conduct routine check and maintenance.
  • Perform Burn-in Test & Current Leakage Test for Customers’ IT equipment
  • Must be knowledge on BMS/ PMS etc
  • Can do attitude
  • Provide 7 x 24 shift duty service
  Hours of work / Shift Pattern  
  • Continental Shift Pattern - Days & Nights
  • 07:00am to 19:00pm & 19:00pm to 07:00am
  • Single person shift
  • Parking on site

Requirements
  • Electrically or mechanically qualified 
  • City & Guilds - Level 3
  • A proven track record in Building Maintenance
  • Good Leadership & Management skills
  • Safe systems of Work Procedure - PTW, RAMS experience  
  • Health and safety and statutory compliance knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to develop excellent working relationships both internal and externally
  • Proven IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office
  • Data Centre Experience
