Role

Climate17 are working with a renewable energy investment fund who develop, construct and operate battery energy storage assets across the UK, with over 825MWh in construction over 5 sites and further 1GWh consented for 2025.

They are actively looking for a Commercial Analyst to optimize revenue generation, monitor suppliers’ fulfilment of contractual obligations, ensure assets are operating as per expectations and seek improved performance.



Responsibilities
 

• Perform detailed financial analysis of energy storage projects, including revenue projections, cost estimates, and return on investment calculations.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify market trends, providing recommendations for business development strategies.
• Assist in the preparation of financial models, and investment proposals to support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate on contract negotiations, and assist in optimizing revenue generation.
• Monitor asset performance and financial metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
• Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and data visualization to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Stay updated with industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements related to energy storage and provide insights on their implications for the business.
• Support the commercial team in various ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and administrative tasks.

• Degree in maths, finance, economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  
  Experience with data visualization software is desirable.
• Knowledge of the energy industry, particularly in the field of energy storage, is advantageous.
• Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines effectively.
