Permitting and Licensing Technical Officer

You will be joining a customer focused team that was awarded the 2024 Team Exemplar of the Year Award at the recent Shine Awards for its excellent team work and collaboration with other internal and external teams.

You will be a key and frontline part in delivering an excellent service to customers who use our permissions service.
The Permitting Team you will be joining issues about 1800 permits annually to stakeholders.

You will handle all the administrative tasks required as part of processing these permit applications that we receive.  This will require you to apply your skills and experience in using digital tools such Microsoft office software, GIS and mapping software and working with and interpreting data and databases.

 
You will need to be fairly self-sufficient, be able to prioritise workloads, work at pace and enjoy working flexibly and collaboratively with diverse customers to deliver great outcomes.
Experience in an administrative and customer service environment is desirable.

About The Role
In this role you will provide technical support to the Permitting and Licensing Teams manage the effective operation of the permitting and licensing function.
Your good interpersonal skills will be essential for this role as you will be the first point of contact for liaison with our customers, ensuring they are kept informed and that their interests are advocated in team discussions and direction.
You will provide technical help and guidance both internally and externally for permitting and licensing activities.
You will manage permitting closure information, ensuring the timely update of permitting records or referral of closure information to the appropriate Permitting Manager.
You will manage other permitting and licensing data and undertake relevant management reporting.
We don’t expect candidates to meet every single desired qualification.

Training on technical elements of permitting will be provided.
