Building Service Engineer

Building Service Engineer - Electrical Bias - Central Belt - Salary up to £47,000 DOE

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Multi-Skilled Building Services Engineer, ideally with an electrical bias, to support a large portfolio of sites across Scotland and the North of England.

This is a varied mobile role, responsible for ensuring buildings, facilities and essential services remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

You will carry out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, working across a range of building services systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with schedules and client requirements.
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests and diagnosing faults efficiently.
• Undertaking electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across commercial buildings.
• Carrying out general building services and mechanical maintenance.
• Maintaining HVAC, heating, ventilation and associated building services.
• Undertaking minor installation and repair works.
• Carrying out lighting, emergency lighting and basic electrical works.
• Inspecting plant, equipment and building services to identify potential issues.
• Supporting compliance with relevant health & safety legislation and industry standards.
• Completing maintenance records, job sheets and reports accurately using the required systems.
• Liaising professionally with site contacts, colleagues, contractors and the client.
• Responding to occasional out-of-hours or emergency requirements where required.
• Maintaining a high standard of customer service while working within occupied commercial and testing environments.

• An electrical bias is preferred, alongside a good understanding of wider building services and mechanical systems.
• Experience working within Facilities Management, Building Services or a commercial environment.
• A strong electrical maintenance background.
• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• A practical understanding of mechanical and building services systems.
• The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• A professional approach when working within client premises.
• A full UK driving licence.
• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Inspection & Testing qualification.
• Experience with HVAC, mechanical systems, plumbing or general building maintenance.
• IPAF.
• PASMA.
• Asbestos Awareness.

• Salary up to £47,000 DOE
