Electrical Technical Manager
Technical Services Manager - Fife Hours: 37.5 hours per week Working Hours: Flexible between 7:00am and 5:00pm
CBW are seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager – Electrical to provide effective leadership and technical management across a complex healthcare facilities environment.
You will be responsible for the successful delivery of electrical and hard services, ensuring contractual obligations, service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved.
The role will involve overseeing electrical engineering resources, including HV and LV systems, while ensuring critical infrastructure remains safe, compliant and operational.
You will take responsibility for planned, reactive and lifecycle maintenance, working closely with operational teams, clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
This is a key leadership position requiring a strong combination of technical knowledge, people management, commercial awareness and operational experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and support electrical engineering teams to ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
- Maintain the reliability and integrity of critical electrical systems while minimising equipment and asset downtime.
- Oversee planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales and properly documented.
- Manage CAFM systems, including work allocation, asset information, maintenance schedules and reporting.
- Ensure Safe Systems of Work and Permit to Work procedures are consistently applied.
- Provide leadership for Authorised Persons (APs) and Competent Persons (CPs), ensuring technical appointments and responsibilities are appropriately managed.
- Coordinate additional works, lifecycle replacement programmes and the procurement of equipment and materials.
- Monitor external contractors and supply chain partners, ensuring performance, compliance, quality and safety requirements are maintained.
- Promote a positive Health, Safety and Environmental culture through regular inspections, reporting and proactive risk management.
- Ensure statutory, technical and contractual documentation remains accurate and up to date.
- Lead and support internal and external audits, ensuring any identified actions are addressed promptly.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and key stakeholders, attending meetings and providing accurate performance updates and reports.
- Maintain training records, competency information and technical appointment registers.
- Manage team performance, including appraisals, development plans and ongoing training requirements.
- Work closely with the central Service Desk to support workforce planning and maintain operational continuity.
- Ensure operational procedures, LOPs and technical documentation remain compliant with legislation and industry best practice.
- Participate in an out-of-hours/on-call management rota as required.
- Prepare regular contract performance, energy management and operational reports.
- Monitor budgets, expenditure and financial forecasts to ensure effective commercial management.
- Support and promote organisational values relating to ethics, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the Line Manager.

- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- Recognised electrical qualifications and/or fully qualified electrician status.
- At least five years' post-qualification experience within a comparable technical or contract management position.
- Demonstrable experience managing electrical and hard services within a contractual environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Good commercial and financial management experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required Disclosure Scotland/PVG clearance.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and CAFM systems.
- Previous experience working within healthcare facilities management.
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare technical standards, including SHTM 06-01, SHTM 06-02 and SHTM 06-03.
- LV and HV Authorised/Approved Person experience or certification.
- Knowledge of Confined Spaces, Fire Safety and Lift management.
- Experience managing projects and delivering works within a live operational environment.
