Fabric Engineer – FM Service Provider - Commercial Building – Ipswich  - £20.00 Umbrella

Exciting opportunity to work for a leading FM Service Provider situated in Ipswich.

CBW is currently recruiting for a Fabric Engineer, the successful candidate will have an all-around understanding of most fabric duties and a proven track record in commercial building maintenance and experience working within a healthcare environment .

Working within a team on-site, he or she will need to carry out fabric PPM and reactive maintenance.


Working hours 

• Two days per week
• 08:00 - 17:00
• Up to £20 per hour (umbrella)
• Immediate start

• Painting & Decorating
• General fabric repairs
• Furniture moves porterage
• Fixing Furniture
• Hanging Pictures & Shelves
• Maintain and update Log books
• Assist the maintenance team on site e.g PPMs, fire alarm tests, tap temp checks, flushing
• Escort sub-contractors
• To undertake basic “Fabric duties” which would include touching up paintwork, tightening hinges, install/repair blinds, changing locks , making minor repairs to cabinets, desks, and putting together small equipment like chairs etc.

• Knowledge of commercial building maintenance
• An understanding of most building fabric duties
• Good communication skills
• Health & Safety experience
• Basic PC literacy, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, smartphone use)
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service
• Self-motivation with the ability to manage tight time constraints and prioritise workload
