Lead Electrical Engineer - FM Service Provider – Charing Cross, London- Commercial Bank -  £43,000

Exciting opportunity to work for a leading FM Service provider situated in Charing Cross, London.

CBW is currently recruiting for a Lead Engineer to be based on a commercial bank in Charing Cross.

The Lead Engineer's role is to act as a coordination point for the day-to-day activities on site as well as assist the Contract Manager with the day-to-day running of the building.

This is a 50/50 role of office work and hands-on maintenance.

The successful candidate will need to be electrically qualified with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance.

This is an ideal role for someone who is looking for a step up.

Hours of work & Package

  • Salary of £43,000
  • Company Vehicle when on call

  • 1 in 5 weeks – payment of £125 per week of call out.
  • Overtime is available 1.5% for evening and Saturdays and 2% for Sunday’s and Bank holidays

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Issue relevant site Permits as part of the Safe System of Work
  • Close liaison and working relationship with the Client/Tenants
  • Carry out hands-on M&E/Fabric maintenance
  • Ensure that daily tours are completed and repair or report any defects found via the Landlord/Tenant helpdesk
  • Comply with both statutory and company health, safety and environmental regulations and policies.
  • Control of specialist contractors including monitoring of work performance and standards, including internal auditing where applicable
  • Take responsibility for escalating critical incidents and producing and submitting incident reports within the prescribed timescales in conjunction with the Contract Manager
  • An understanding of the following M&E systems; Building Management Systems and electrical monitoring, Control system, Air handling, conditioning and terminal units –Fan Coil Units and VAV Boxes, Domestic water services, Fire prevention and detection systems, Fire alarm and voice alarm, VESDA, Fire suppression, Sprinkler Systems,  Emergency lighting.
  • Ensure that Plant areas, workshops, stores, changing/rest areas etc.are kept to the highest level of housekeeping
  • Attend clients meetings
  • Assist with monthly reports

Requirements
  • Electrically qualified
  • Leadership experience (Preferred)
  • C&G / NVQ Level 2&3
  • C&G 18th Edition
  • You must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and clients.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload
  • Offer technical support to the Contract Manager, client and on-site maintenance team
