Assistant Contract Manager – Established Maintenance Provider – Central London - 55k

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join one of the more established and respected companies in the facilities maintenance industry.

They have a collection of commercial maintenance contracts based in Central London and they are looking for an assistant contract manager to work alongside the existing contract manager to assist with the managing the sites and provide technical expertise across the buildings.

The main purpose of the job will be assisting to ensure that the buildings are all maintained to a very high standard and the engineering team across the buildings is performing to the best of their ability.

They will also be responsible for ensuring compliance is conducted, and that all requests are responded to for a client with a high level service and will also be a key player in the technical pro-active approach on risk minimisation.

They will also be responsible for managing projects across all the buildings and also making sure P&L and budgets are managed correctly. 

Due to the mobile nature of the role there will be the option to be based in the main office in central London and also on the client sites.   

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8-5 and the package is as follows:

  • Salary up to 55k
  • 25 days holiday
  • Private healthcare
The main duties will also include assisting in the following:
  • Manage all directly employed staff on the contracts.
  • Manage agreed KPI and SLA’s.
  • Responsible for managing the company’s H&S and environmental performance on sites.
  • Responsible for managing the company’s quality procedures on sites.
  • Recruitment of any new staff required on sites.
  • Responsible for the development of all staff, which will include annual appraisals.
  • Manage staff absenteeism and be responsible for disciplinary issues within the site team.
  • Management of client relationships on a daily basis.
  • Management of P&L and budgets.
Applicants for this role must be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Fully electrically or mechanically qualified to a recognised standard, C&G,HNC, HND.
  • Strong technical engineering understanding.
  • Basic financial understanding including P&L and budgets (training will be given)
  • Previous experience of supervising staff.
  • Experience of service delivery in high profile financial offices.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and clients.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload.
