Scope 2 Lead, Science-Based Targets initiativeLocation: UK, Germany, Netherlands, France, SpainThis is a senior role responsible for the development of technical outputs related to Scope 2, contributing to the Corporate Net-Zero Standard and other cross-sector resources.
The Scope 2 Lead ensures that all outputs are technically robust, aligned with best practices, based on balanced stakeholder feedback and support SBTI’s organisational objectives.
The role serves as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and contributes as a lead author or primary contributor to significant technical outputs and publications.

● Leads preparation for and delivery of meetings with expert advisory groups (Scope 2 Expert Working Group) ● Ensures successful delivery of assigned projects / outputs by using resources effectively, considering workload distribution, and operational efficiencies, collaborating with the project management team.● Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks associated with the assigned scope of work.
● Facilitates decision-making processes that are informed, timely, and aligned with organisational priorities.
● Drives collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team, the Technical Department and across the organisation to maximise impact.
● Role models respectful behaviour, open communication and integrity as vital pillars of SBTi’s culture.Essential skills and experience:● 10+ years of professional experience, including senior roles managing individuals and complex projects or programmes.● Demonstrates solid knowledge in standard-setting, GHG accounting, science-based target-setting and decarbonisation of the corporate sector.● Clear specialisation in zero carbon and renewable energy● Fluent in global corporate renewable energy sourcing strategy (e.g.
PPAs, vPPAs)● Developed or has in-depth of knowledge of frameworks related to corporate energy sourcing (e.g.
GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance, RE100, 24/7 CFE technical criteria)● Expert knowledge of market instruments for renewable electricity, and their role in driving a clean, efficient energy system● Understands the latest developments around Scope 2 emissions accounting (including 24/7 carbon-free electricity, consequential accounting and the role of project-based methods for quantifying emissions impacts from electricity sector interventions)● Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication abilities, with proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder consultation processes and a demonstrated ability to convey complex concepts clearly to diverse internal and external audiences.● Strong project and people management capabilities, with a track record of leading collaborative eff orts in a culturally diverse environment.Desirable skills and experience:● Experience in standards development and writing, working within a formal standard-setting organization, and knowledge of ISEAL Codes of Good Practice.This is a full-time role, based in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, France, or Spain.
The salary for this role will depend on location and experience level.
This role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with the possibility of extension.Interested candidates should be legally allowed to work in the countries specified.
