Team Manager – Warehouse Operations 
Location: Sheffield (on-site)
Salary: £36,223 (Available Shift Patterns & Package Details towards the bottom of the advert)
Reports to: Operations Manager

Role Overview A fast-paced third-party logistics operation is seeking driven and people-focused Team Managers to lead frontline warehouse teams.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be accountable for creating a safe, engaged, and high-performing environment while delivering operational excellence against customer expectations.
You will bring energy, structure, and strong leadership to the operation, ensuring every shift runs smoothly while developing colleagues and maintaining high standards across performance, safety, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and motivate warehouse operatives through visible, effective leadership, creating a culture of accountability and high performance
  • Deliver daily operational performance in line with customer SLAs, volume forecasts, and site priorities within a fast-paced 3PL environment
  • Proactively manage attendance, absence, wellbeing, and conduct, taking appropriate action to protect productivity, service levels, and team morale
  • Plan and deploy labour effectively, balancing cost, efficiency, and service on an hourly basis in response to changing volumes
  • Monitor, analyse, and act on key KPIs including labour efficiency, service levels, accuracy, safety, cost, and engagement
  • Control labour and operational costs, demonstrating a clear understanding of P&L drivers and cost-to-serve levers
  • Drive performance through coaching, clear targets, and accountability, managing underperformance through formal processes where required
  • Communicate clearly at all levels through structured briefings, 1:1s, and shift handovers
  • Promote colleague engagement by reviewing feedback, identifying trends, and implementing improvement actions
  • Take full ownership of health & safety on shift, ensuring compliance with all legal, site, and customer requirements
  • Lead teams through change, peak periods, and operational challenges while maintaining control and performance
  • Deliver continuous improvement by embedding standard ways of working and encouraging innovation and feedback
  • Take ownership of training and development, building team capability to meet current and future operational needs
  • Act as a role model for behaviours, standards, and company values
Performance Measures
  • Achievement of labour productivity targets and cost control
  • Delivery of KPIs and SLAs at or above contractual expectations
  • Health & Safety compliance (minimum 95%)
  • Colleague engagement and survey participation targets
  • Accuracy, service, and operational performance metrics
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to coach, mentor, and hold individuals accountable
  • Experience working within a 3PL or multi-client environment with an understanding of SLAs and KPIs
  • Good financial awareness, including labour costs and operational impact on profitability
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills, using data and KPIs to drive improvements
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities and operational challenges
Knowledge & Qualifications
  • Good understanding of end-to-end warehouse operations and resource planning
  • Knowledge of WMS systems and warehouse transactional processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Awareness of Power BI or similar reporting tools (desirable)
  • Health & Safety knowledge within a warehouse environment
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or working towards) preferred

Shift Patterns Available
  • Monday – Friday: 14:00 – 22:00
  • Sunday – Thursday: 14:00 – 22:00
  • Tuesday – Saturday: 14:00 – 22:00
  • 4 on / 4 off rotating: 09:00 – 21:00
