Job Profile
As the successful Injection Moulding Setter, you will play a key role within the production team, ensuring efficient setup and operation of injection moulding machinery in line with the company’s manufacturing plan.
You’ll be responsible for carrying out mould changes, optimising machine settings, and maintaining high standards of product quality and operational performance.
The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-spec manufacturing environment and enjoys solving technical challenges to drive process improvement.
Duties:
- Carry out efficient mould changes and machine setups in accordance with production requirements
- Monitor and optimise machine utilisation using manufacturing performance systems
- Ensure machines are running in line with quality, cycle time, and uptime targets
- Work closely with Shift Managers and Quality Inspectors to address production or quality issues
- Implement SMED principles to minimise downtime during tool changes
- Record and maintain process control data, setting sheets, and improvement logs
- Support continuous improvement and problem-solving activities within the department
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping, safety, and 5S principles
- Participate in operator training and cross-skilling when required
Skills & Attributes:
- Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Setter or similar technical role
- Strong understanding of plastic injection moulding processes and tool change procedures
- Familiar with monitoring systems and data-driven process improvement (e.g., OEE or similar)
- Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem-solving approach
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Education / Certificates:
- NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Polymer Processing (desirable)
- Formal training in injection moulding setup or processing (desirable)
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week (rotating shifts):
- Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:00
- Monday to Friday, 15:00–23:00
- Monday to Friday, 23:00–07:00
Includes a 30-minute paid break.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policy
- Report any incidents, near misses, or hazards immediately
- Maintain clean, safe, and organised work areas at all times
Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and performance reviews
- Contribute to the development of junior team members as required
- Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives across production
