Where you’ll be working
You will be working at a 99-bed rural referral hospital that recently underwent a $60 million redevelopment.

The hospital provides a comprehensive range of services including acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics and a range of diagnostic and allied health services.

The facility includes a busy emergency department, a level 3 close observation unit, a mental health unit, a renal dialysis unit, and an onsite clinical school.

Surgical services include general, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology and ophthalmology.

You will join an experienced team of General Surgeons, well supported by a junior team of 3 Registrars and 1 RMO.

You will contribute to the provision of comprehensive specialist services within the hospital, as well as outreach services to surrounding District Hospitals.

You will have the opportunity to exercise professional medical leadership, clinical supervision of junior doctors, and overall management of the General Surgical services.

You will also have the optionality for private practice at the colocated private hospital.

Salary information
Consultant General Surgeons can expect a salary in line with the NSW Award, plus a range of benefits. 

Requirements  
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), or equivalent.
