Consultant Palliative Medicine

You will be working with a health service that serves a growing population of approximately 250,000 people and treats more than 700,000 patients each year.
You will be based at the 305-bed main referral hospital, in a newly established building boasting state-of-the-art medical equipment.
The hospital has four operating theatres and two procedure rooms, supported by an 8-bed Intensive Care/High Dependency Unit.
Services offered here include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Haematology, Medical Oncology, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics.
As Consultant Palliative Medicine, you will provide comprehensive inpatient, community and consultative Palliative Care Services, including pain assessment and management, and advance care planning.
You will contribute to the department’s commitment to empathetic, patient-focussed care, and overall clinical excellence, often collaborating and liaising with GPs, specialty nurses and community services.
You will work within a dedicated and collegial team, providing specialist palliative medicine support and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines.
You will also have opportunities for the supervision and training of junior doctors.

Salary information
Palliative Medicine Consultants can expect a total remuneration of up to $528, 432, p.a.
including a range of benefits.
Requirements
Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM), or equivalent.
