A UK-based global leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of advanced technologies and mechanical systems is seeking an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join their precision machining team.

Job Profile
As the CNC Setter Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating a range of CNC machines (either Milling or Turning), including multi-station setups, carrying out a sequence of operations to produce high-precision component parts, ensuring full compliance with technical drawings, safety standards, and company quality procedures within a continuous improvement environment.

Duties:
  • Set and operate CNC Turning, Milling, or Mill/Turn machines in accordance with setup sheets and engineering drawings, working with Fanuc and/or Mazatrol
  • Load and unload components using manual handling or jib cranes, ensuring correct and safe placement in work holding fixtures
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using appropriate measuring tools to verify conformance to specification
  • Make corrective adjustments via CNC offsets to maintain part quality
  • Follow “Right First Time” philosophy and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, perform routine lubrication and maintain cleanliness of machine tools
  • Report tool or equipment defects promptly to minimise scrap and downtime
  • Work closely with Production Engineering, Quality, and Supervisors to resolve issues and drive efficiency
  • Participate in Kaizen and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Support colleagues and apprentices as a collaborative team member
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Value Stream Manager

Skills/Experience:
  • Proven experience in setting and operating CNC Turning and/or Milling machines
  • Experience with Fanuc OR Mazatrol controls would be ideal
  • Competent in interpreting engineering drawings and understanding geometric tolerancing
  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques
  • Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
  • Team player with a positive and adaptable approach

Hours:
  • 8.30am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
