Recruit4staff are representing a well-established structural steel fabrication business in their search for a Plater to work in Skelmersdale

Job Role: Working within a busy workshop environment, the Plater will be responsible for fabricating structural steel components by reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Duties include plate preparation using oxy-fuel gas cutting and hand grinding, assembling parts using welding, bolts or rivets, and finishing components to meet high-quality standards.

The role also involves operating various fabrication machinery and following health and safety protocols at all times.

Job Details:

• Pay: £37,897.60 per annum
• Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm
• Duration: Permanent
• Overtime Rules: Overtime paid at x1.5 & x2 of basic hours

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Plating/heavy fabrication of structural steel components
• Working from technical/engineering drawings
• Oxy–fuel gas cutting & hand grinding

Desired Skills & Experience:

• MIG & MMA welding experience

Essential Qualifications:

• City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in fabrication or welding/plating

Desired Qualifications:

• Overhead Crane
• FLT Licence
