An excellent opportunity has arisen within the West Yorkshire area for an experienced Packaging Service Engineer

The Opportunity

The engineering department delivers exceptional customer service on a daily basis and has the most customer contact of any department in the business.

Therefore your day-to-day contribution will be instrumental in driving continual improvements and in cementing our brand's position as the leader of our industry.



Although a demand driven role occasionally requiring the need to be able to deviate from a planned schedule, you are backed up by a wider team of service and spares planners to help maintain as much pro-activity as possible to keep excess travel and overnight stays to a
minimum and spread evenly across the team.

Responsibilities
- Having the ability to liaise with both customers and colleagues to ensure maintains the customer service excellence that we pride ourselves on, is essential to the role.


- servicing, maintaining, and installing a range of equipment at customers sites nationwide.


- Attend customers site in a timely manner to carry out the task assigned and deliver exceptional customer service.


- Respond to customer demand promptly and professionally working autonomously as well as part of a wider team.


- Typical hours are around 40-45 but does vary as a demand driven role.

Care is proactively taken to avoid excessive hours where possible.
- Install new machines and provide full operator training individually and as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively to liaise with:
- Customers both on site and to help to diagnose problems over the phone.

The engineering and admin team The sales team.
- Participation in training courses, as and when required.
- This post does involve regular travel and overnight stays at occasionally short notice, as required.




Required skills:
- The minimum skills and qualifications required for this role include:
- Recognised electrical engineering qualification.
- Field engineering experience is essential.
- PLC interrogation experience is essential.

In particular Siemens S7/TIA & OMRON Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Polite telephone manner.
- Self-Motivation with the ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
- The ability to provide a digital job report on completion of a daily task using excellent English/Grammar.



Overview
- Ideally located within 1hr of Brighouse
- £40k-£50k salary
- 40-45hrs per week on site + travel
- 2x nights away from home on average per week
- Weekend work - very, very rare although if it's necessary to keep the customers in production then needs must.

This is shared out into a 6th week rota To put it into perspective, we had one weekend breakdown call out last year.

There is a fixed rate paid to the engineer should there be a call out.
- There is a guaranteed annual pay review at the end of each financial year.
- 20 holidays per year + bank holidays + Christmas - New Year shut down.
- The fit for the role is equally important as their engineering knowledge.

Our field service engineers are all between the ages of 28-42 and the dynamic
works really well - it's crucial that we maintain this.
