Job Description:

As a Turf Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of turf machinery and equipment used in landscaping, groundskeeping, and agricultural applications.

Your role involves ensuring that turf equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to support the maintenance of lawns, sports fields, golf courses, and other green spaces.

Below is a detailed job specification outlining the key duties and qualifications for this role:

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with turf machinery such as lawn mowers, tractors, aerators, sprayers, and irrigation systems.

Conduct scheduled servicing to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.

Service Calls: Respond to service calls from clients, including golf courses, sports clubs, municipalities, and landscaping companies.

Travel to customer sites to inspect equipment, troubleshoot problems, and perform repairs or adjustments as needed to minimize downtime.

Diagnostic Work: Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve technical problems with turf machinery.

Analyze symptoms, run diagnostic tests, and determine root causes of issues to implement effective repair solutions.

Parts Replacement: Source and replace worn or damaged parts in turf equipment, including engine components, cutting blades, belts, filters, and electrical systems.

Ensure that replacement parts meet quality standards and are compatible with specific machine models.

Electrical and Hydraulic Systems: Perform electrical and hydraulic repairs on turf machinery, including wiring, switches, solenoids, pumps, valves, and control systems.

Test components for functionality and safety compliance, and make adjustments or replacements as necessary.

Equipment Upgrades: Install, calibrate, and upgrade equipment with new features, attachments, or technology enhancements to improve performance, efficiency, and user experience.

Provide training to customers on the operation and maintenance of upgraded equipment.

Customer Support: Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding turf equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
