We are looking for an experienced leader with a background in Environmental, Infrastructure or Operational Management.
Ideally you will come from a water, infrastructure or environmental protection background or have significant transferable experience.
We want someone who can understand environmental policy, legislation and corporate vision to create long-term strategies focussed on delivering set objectives and outcomes.
We want someone who can confidently build and influence strong collaborative relationships with the partner organisations who we work with.
You must be a great motivator, with the ability to develop and support a team to focus on outcomes, look for innovative solutions and deliver for the communities we serve.
You must understand the importance of risk management at strategic and operational levels and use this to ensure the objectives of the organisation are achieved within its risk appetite.
You should have experience of managing senior internal and external stakeholders through complex and sensitive issues relating to funding, regulation and compliance.
You should be a great communicator and collaborator with experience of working across multiple internal and external teams and with external suppliers and customers.

About The Role
You’ll be leading both an internal and external team of technical and project/programme delivery professionals to deliver the Coal Authority’s Inland Salinity Programme.
Working with the Programme Director you will deliver the agreed strategy to manage the risks and impacts of inland saline mine water through assessing the areas of risk and developing prioritised short and long-term solutions to protect critical water resources.
The development of solutions will require innovative thinking and a collaborative approach to explore opportunities to work with partners in industry and also regulators to add value to potential solutions.
Role location: flexible but will require regular visits to the head office in Mansfield.
