Salary: £49,500
We are currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent, Registered Manager, to join our small friendly team in Finchley.
The job will start on a temporary basis and then move to permanent.
This role is 5 days per week, 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Flexibility regarding the working hours and days may be possible for the right candidate.
The Challenge
You should know that at this time we are under direct scrutiny from the CQC following an inadequate report, and we need someone exceptional who can help turn our organisation around over the next few months and lead us for many years thereafter.
The report came after a fall by a client leading to a serious injury.
About Us
We are a women-only care provider that is run by women offering specialist 24-hour care and support to mainly South Asian women who have learning disabilities and complex health needs.
We operate across one care home and three small, supported living units in Finchley.
We look after 22 lovely ladies.
We have a fantastic team of care workers, team leaders and managers, who are committed and passionate about their work.
Most of our staff have worked with us for a long time, and they say it is a great place to work with managers and team leaders who support them whenever they need it.
We like to invest in our staff and provide lots of opportunities to grow and develop.
We provide ongoing training through our award-winning training partner, as well as specialist training and opportunities to complete fully funded care qualifications.
About You
You will already have at least 2 years experience as a Registered Manager or equivalent in a fast-paced business environment.
You will be an approachable, enthusiastic and flexible individual with excellent interpersonal skills and have a proven track record in management in learning disabilities environment over a number of years.
Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook are essential.
You must be able to work on your own initiative and be confident working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Overview:
As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for managing three supported living units and one residential care home as part of the same group.
You will be ensuring that the individuals residing in the home receive high-quality care that meets their unique needs.
You will jointly lead a team of 37 care staff, managing their training and development, as well as ensuring that day-to-day activities in relation to care provision, personal supports and activities are all managed effectively.
Responsibilities:
, Putting our client's needs, wishes and aspirations first
, Managing the operation of one residential unit and three supported living units, reporting directly to the Directors and Registered Manager.
, Ensuring that all residents are cared for with respect and dignity to a high standard.
, Assessing the needs of all residents, and establishing and implementing appropriate care plans
, Managing a team of care staff, team leaders, scheme managers and deputy managers ensuring they are trained, developed and motivated to provide excellent care.
, Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Inspection standards, such as CQC.
, Implementing and adhering health & safety procedures at the home
, Liaising with other professionals and external organisations to ensure the best level of care can be provided for residents
, Building good relationships with families/guardians and such as social workers, healthcare professionals.
, Participating in regular meetings to update information and receive feedback from seniors or support staff.
, Ensure financial policies such as petty cash, recording client expenditure, training etc are followed.
, Ensure client environment and equipment are properly maintained.
Qualification and Skills Required:
, Hold or be working towards a QCF Level 5 qualification in social care
, Registered Manager in Learning Difficulties for minimum of 2 years
, Management experience for 5 years
, Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements
, Knowledge of working with organisations needing significant improvement following a CQC inadequate report (desirable)
, Experience in managing and leading a team
, High-level communication and interpersonal skills
, Excellent organisational and administrative ability
, Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
, Compassionate, caring and patient.
Working Conditions:
The Registered Manager is typically based in a care home environment.
Their role will involve managing a team of managers and carers and interacting with residents, their families and other external supports.
Flexibility is required as shift work and covering on-call some nights a week is a common requirement.

Because the Registered Manager will be required to be available to provide direct personal care in an emergency, and our clients have made it clear they want women-only carers, this role is for women only.
