Lead Surgical Care Practitioner - Robotic Lead
An outstanding new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Lead Surgical Care Practitioner - Robotic Lead to work in a reputable, exceptional private hospital based in the South Kensington, London area.

As the Lead Surgical Care Practitioner your key responsibilities include:
- Undertake the role of SFA in addition to their SCP role
- Assist the Consultant Surgeons who carry out Robotic Surgical Lists in the operating theatre as the robotic surgical assistant
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a seamless robotic surgical service, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care.
Being part of this specialist team, the SCP must develop towards demonstrating a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education, clinical care and support to health care professionals and patients - To be a lead specialist and to practice autonomously in the absence of medical staff e.g., final wound closure following surgery
- Manage a team of SCPs and SFA across specialties
- Key part in developing the robotic service at Cromwell in line with organisational strategy
- Use specialist knowledge and skills to integrate assessment findings, to plan, implement and evaluate individual programmes of care for own caseload, which is delegated to them e.g., clinician-led clinics against agreed protocols
- Act as a member of the extended surgical team, to perform surgical interventions, pre-operative and post-operative care under the direction and supervision of a Consultant Surgeon and according to departmental protocols and procedures
The following skills and qualifications would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
- ODP Level 3 NVQ or Diploma in Perioperative Practice
- HPC registration
- RCS Basic Surgical Skills Course
- SCP training course completed
- ENB 176/183/182 or equivalent
- Teaching/assessing qualification - ENB 998 or equivalent
- Current experience as SFA/ASP
The successful Lead Surgical Care Practitioner will receive an excellent salary of £100,000 per annum DOE.
This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week.
