Job Role: This particular role is based at Queens Hospita, Romford.

The Occupational Therapist will be expected to:

• Conduct thorough initial assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities, as well as their functional limitations, in order to establish appropriate intervention goals.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
• Provide evidence-based interventions to address deficits in activities of daily living (ADLs), motor skills, coordination, sensory processing, and cognitive function.
• Implement therapeutic activities and exercises aimed at improving fine motor skills, strength, coordination, balance, and mobility.
• Utilize adaptive techniques, assistive devices, and environmental modifications to maximize patients' independence and safety in their home and community environments.
• Incorporate cognitive retraining, perceptual training, and strategies for managing executive function deficits into treatment plans.
• Regularly monitor patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and family members on strategies and techniques to promote carryover of therapy goals into daily life.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, interventions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and in-service training sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and share expertise.
