Project Worker - Housing

About The Role
Do you have a good understanding of homelessness and/or experience of working with homeless individuals and/or supporting vulnerable people or groups and empowering them to develop their skills, strengths and talents?
Then join the Salvation Army Housing Association (Saha) as a Project Worker and you could soon be playing a vital role key working a caseload of young people who are currently homeless or have recently experienced homelessness.
Whilst we are looking for full-time candidates, we are also prepared to consider those looking for part-time hours
Working in a psychologically informed environment (training will be provided), we’ll rely on you to engage creatively with clients who have experienced homelessness in order to help them grow their strengths and talents.
Indeed, with your help, they’ll be able to develop the skills and resources required to transform their lives.

On any given day you might be helping a client sustain their accommodation, manage their license agreement or improve their understanding of financial management.

Whatever it takes, in fact, to enable them to enjoy better health and well being and move on to independent living, in a role where applying safeguarding principles and practices will be at the core of everything you do.

About The Candidate
We're looking for people who are keen to make a difference, you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
You can also bring energy and passion, plus a positive, can do attitude in your genuine desire to help transform lives.

A proven ability to motivate young people to recognise and unlock their talents to enable them to achieve their full potential is vital too.

As well as being able to engage and relate to young people aged 16-25 years, you have a high level of resilience plus an innate ability to build trusting, professional relationships.
What’s more, you have a good idea of the wider community resources and organisations available to support clients and are comfortable dealing with difficult or complex situations.

Last but not least, you must be willing to participate in a shift rolling rota system over 7 days & you will need to be able to participate in our 24 hour shift rota system.
