Mobile Building Maintenance Engineer

Mobile Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical bias) Facilities in-house team in Edinburgh / Glasgow.  Position will come with van plus excellent benefits.  Salary 35K with on-call paid at £150 per week and great overtime at 1.5 and 2.0

This is a great opportunity to cover mainly Edinburgh a large static site but there will be occasional travel to Glasgow sites too.     The position will be varied and carrying out maintenance within the building.  You will come from either electrical, mechanical or gas background and be also happy to carry out fabric duties around the building.  

Duties & Responsibilities 

Electrical duties


  • Lighting – lamp changes, ballast changes, simmtronic/Phillips lighting
  • Emergency light testing
  • Power distribution
  • Electrical fault-finding
  • Small works – new sockets, new lights, new circuits
  • PAT Testing
  • Control Panel maintenance
  • Transformers
  • Star Delta Starters
Mechanical duties


  • Fire alarm testing and sprinkler testing
  • AHU's/FCU's – filter changes, belt changes, actuator changes, coil cleans
  • Pumps – PPM's or strip downs (replacing seals, bearings, valves, overhauls)
  • Motors – PPM's (re-winds, overhauls)
  • Water treatment – dipslides, pH & temperature testing, chlorination, chemical dosing
  • Water pressurization units
  • Chlorifiers – annual inspection, de-scaling
  • Steam Plant
  • Condensers, Condenser Returns
  • Cooling towers
  • Softeners
  • Humidifiers
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
  • Boilers – re-sets
  • Chillers – re-sets, 1st Line faults
  • Plumbing (Unblocking toilets, changing taps etc)
  • HIU's
