Electrical or Mechanical Engineer

Electrical or Mechanical Engineer - Oxford Circus, London - Up to £24.00 per hour - Immediate Start - Monday - Friday (Days only) 

My client is looking for an Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based in Oxford Circus.

The successful candidates will be Electrically or Mechanically biased with a proven track record in commercial building maintenance, working with the maintenance team on site. 

Key duties depending on experience:   

 Electrical duties

  • Lighting – lamp changes, ballast changes, simmtronic/Phillips lighting
  • Emergency light testing
  • Power distribution
  • Electrical fault-finding
  • Small works – new sockets, new lights, new circuits
  • PAT Testing
  • Control Panel maintenance
  • Transformers
  • Star Delta Starters
Mechanical duties
  • Fire alarm testing and sprinkler testing
  • AHU's/FCU's – filter changes, belt changes, actuator changes, coil cleans
  • Pumps – PPM's or strip downs (replacing seals, bearings, valves, overhauls)
  • Motors – PPM's (re-winds, overhauls)
  • Water treatment – dipslides, pH & temperature testing, chlorination, chemical dosing
  • Water pressurization units
  • Chlorifiers – annual inspection, de-scaling
  • Steam Plant
  • Condensers, Condenser Returns
  • Cooling towers
  • Softeners
  • Humidifiers
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
  • Boilers – re-sets
  • Chillers – re-sets, 1st Line faults
  • Plumbing (Unblocking toilets, changing taps etc)
  • HIU's
Hours of work

Monday - Friday - 08:00am - 17:00pm   

Electrical requirements: 
  • Electrical qualified level 2&3 (C&G, NVQ etc)
  • 18th Edition
  • Experience working in a bank / commercial Office
  • You must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates (Essential)
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • Multi-skilled
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent customer skills
Mechanical requirements: 
  • City & Guilds / NVQ in Mechanical
  • You must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates (Essential)
  • A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
  • An understanding of the following is essential: L8 Water treatment, Pumps, Air Handling units
  • Multi-skilled
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent customer skills
