Consultant Psychiatrist

An outstanding new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Consultant Psychiatrist - CAMHS - PICU to work in an exceptional hospital based in the Cheadle, Greater Manchester area.

You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers



The hospital is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence across 11 wards which include a speciality eating disorder service, CAMHS, rehabilitation, acute and PICU services

As the Consultant Psychiatrist your key responsibilities include:



  • Working as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician as part of the MDT

  • Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT

  • Timely assessment of referrals along with the MDT

  • Conducting Comprehensive Assessments and treatment planning with patients, external stake holders and carers

  • Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings; Adhering to organisational admission and discharge policy and procedures

  • Timely discharge GP notifications and discharge summaries

  • To contribute to the unit governance through expertise and leadership

  • Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings alongside giving evidence within these meetings

  • Participate in a second on 1:3 on call rota



The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:



  • Registered on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR along with valid AC Status

  • Experienced & knowledgeable in CAMHS

  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity

  • Committed to continued professional development

  • Able to work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team



The successful Consultant Psychiatrist will receive an excellent salary of £180,000 per annum.

This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week.
