Account Assistant

Account Assistant - Upminster, Essex - FM Service Provider - £25,000 - £30,000 per annum   

CBW are currently recruiting for an Account Assistant based in Upminster working with one of our key clients.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working as an Account Assistant.   

Hours of work:   

08:30am - 17:30pm - Monday - Friday (weekend off)   

Key duties and responsibilities: 

  • There should be a close liaison between the Credit Controller and the Finance Team
  • Checking customer's credit situation using Experian and decide whether or not to offer the credit
  • Dealing with internal queries about payments, ensuring customers pay on time
  • Assist in the setting up of accounts through IBMS and Sage
  • Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales and ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
  • Regularly making contact with customers to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries
  • Respond promptly and completely to both Client and internal enquiries
  • Undertake account reconciliations as required
  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
  • Send out Client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
  • Report to the Contract Manager/Finance Team regarding continuing providing a service due to unpaid debt.

  • You are expected to regularly review the company's debt recovery procedures
  • Adding suppliers/clients to the system and chasing for vendor questionnaires and account information.
  • Complete Credit Account Application Forms for new Suppliers.
  • Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requested by management
  • Any other task required by Line Management.
  • Invoice jobs once signed off by Contract Manager – checking correct price/charges have been made.

Experience: 
  • Must have experience working an Account Assistant 
  • System Sage experience is desirable
