We are seeking for Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist who is expereinced in Dysphagia.

• Undertakes differential diagnosis of complex cases within a learning disability caseload.
• Uses specialist knowledge to inform clinical judgments and decision making in complex cases.
• Structures clear therapy plans based on best practice and is able to adapt to individual client needs and priorities.
• Recognises breakdown or conflict when it occurs and generates solutions.
• Provides second opinions to Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals both within and outside of the department.
• Manages a complex caseload independently.
• Negotiates with Speech and Language Therapy colleagues, other professionals and carers with reference to case management of complex cases.
• Assesses, develops and implements highly specialist programmes of care and treatment to meet the needs of the client.
• Records and maintains up-to-date clinical case notes in line with professional standards and trust policies.
• Will manage a caseload which includes people with complex eating and drinking problems, often with a functional or sensory basis.
• Uses highly developed listening skills to assess and treat complex difficulties within the Learning Disabilities Service.
• Manages infection control risks including those from bodily fluids.
• Carries out invasive procedures such as oromotor examinations, cervical auscultation, physical management of challenging behaviour.
• Deals independently with clients who are at risk of potential/actual abuse.
• Deals independently with highly complex clients whose behaviour is so significantly challenging as to cause extreme harm to self and others.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC Registered
• Dysphagia trained
• Extensive experience in dysphagia management, including competency in conducting invasive procedures such as oromotor examinations, cervical auscultation, physical management of challenging behaviour
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage a caseload while maintaining high-quality standards.
