Data Innovation Manager
About You

You will have a strong technical background in data analytics, geospatial technologies or a related discipline, with experience of data migration, data conversion, data maintenance and management of metadata.
You will have experience of external data publication and understand information sharing considerations, such as Intellectual Property Rights management and/or data licensing in a business context.
You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to listen to and understand customers’ data needs and requirements.
You will be able to communicate technical issues to technical and non–technical stakeholders.
You will be solution driven and have a desire to identify issues, embed best practice and seek out and drive improvements to data related problems.
We don’t expect candidates to meet every single desired qualification.

About The Role
As Data Innovation Manager, you will work with internal and external users of Coal Authority data, understanding and responding to their data requirements.
You will look for ways to create economic, environmental or societal ‘value’ from Coal Authority data whether that be value generated directly by the Coal Authority or indirectly by stakeholders and the wider community.
You work within the Data Solutions team, supporting a Coal Authority business function that generates £2.5M income per year via commercial data licences held by a range of stakeholders.
You will also collaborate with non-commercial stakeholders including academics, private researchers and community groups helping them to drive impact from Coal Authority data and information.
Role location: Rotationally onsite (two days in the office per week).
