Principal Business Analyst

You will have extensive experience of building and leading a business analysis function including recruitment, team leading, coaching and mentoring.
You will have excellent interpersonal and managerial skills, an ability to manage team resources and set priorities, and the emotional intelligence and the ability to support and mentor team members.
You will have extensive experience in a Business Analyst role, excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a track record of delivering strategic analysis, change management and benefit realisation activities.
You will be highly proficient in various BA tools and techniques, advising on their use, and building a Community of Practice around them.
You will be able to lead and facilitate workshops, both in person and remotely, and will be comfortable using standard workshop tools and techniques.
You will have extensive experience of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and have experience of the two main types: ‘Waterfall’ (linear) and ‘Agile’ (iterative).
You will be an excellent communicator, and have considerable experience in identifying, analysing and managing stakeholders.

About The Role
You will provide leadership and governance in the discipline of Business Analysis, working to seek out, develop and embed appropriate Business Analysis methodologies, skills, processes, tools and discipline within the Authority, ensuring successful delivery of complex business solutions.
You will lead a team of Business Analysts, setting objectives, managing performance, and providing support and mentoring to enable them to further develop their analysis experience and professional skill sets.
You will develop and implement an Authority wide culture that captures and reports on project benefits so that these can be used to support decision making on future digital projects
You will be working in both traditional project teams, led by a Project Manager and following a defined governance structure, and in an Agile Scrum team, where you will work closely with Developers and QA specialists.
You will be expected to lead the analysis work on complex and large scale projects with responsibility for modelling business systems, eliciting business requirements, managing business benefits, planning and leading data migration projects, and producing well-formed business cases.

Role location: Rotationally onsite at our Mansfield head office (two days in the office per week).
