Job Title: Business Analyst (Business Specialist)
Location: Site Based (Macclesfield) with some remote working
Contract: Inside IR35
Hours/Duration: Full time, 5 days per week.

Up to 12 Months contract (6 months + 6 months)


The Role of Business Analyst
Our client, who is in the astrophysics research industry, has an amazing opportunity for an experienced and effective Business Analyst to work on a variety of business establishment and enablement activities at our client's prestigious HQ in Macclesfield.


This role will have three core areas of delivery:



  • Partnering with other business areas to deliver new processes, features, and systems on their behalf.




  • Enabling and delivering end-to-end change across the business: including discovery, scoping, advising, gaining ‘buy-in' and delivery of projects.




  • Streamline and optimise existing processes, functions and systems business wide to achieve cost efficiencies, reduce wastage and increase value for money.



  • There may be occasions where this role requires work across different time zones.


    Essential



    • A champion for improving processes, able to build processes and/or policy from scratch

    • Experience of delivering a variety of projects, with differing levels of complexities, timelines and stakeholder engagement.

      Knowledge and practical application of Prince2 and APMQ project delivery would be required

    • Good organisational skills, a calm and pragmatic approach to duties and intuitive people management skills.


    • Strong stakeholder management experience

    • Experience of working with a variety of business functions, understanding their challenges and ways of working.


    • Practical, personable communication skills, both verbally, written, in-person and remote.


    • Experience working collaboratively across internal and external stakeholder groups and adjusting information or level of detail according to the stakeholder.



    Desirable



    • Experience of working with Six Sigma methodologies would be an advantage.


    • Advanced user of MS Office and other office systems, knowledge of Confluence and Jira a distinct advantage.


    • Project management qualification or qualified by experience.


    • Basic understanding of finance, budgets and accountancy principles would be beneficial.


    • Experience in organisations with a high degree of governance and structure, including extensive policy and process mapping would be useful.
