An exciting opportunity to join an established building services company based in London has arisen! CBW Staffing Solutions are currently recruiting a Fabric Assistant, to be based in a commercial building in Kings Cross, London.

He or she or they will be required to carry out planned and reactive building maintenance alongside the maintenance team on site, working closely with a senior member of the team and the team on site. 

The company is offering a competitive salary of up to £24,000, overtime, plenty of further training and a potential route into further career progression.

Hours of work

Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm
Plenty of overtime 

Key duties & Responsibilities

• Assisting the on-site maintenance team
• Emergency lighting tests & Fire alarm tests 
• Plumbing – washers, taps, unblocking toilets, unblocking stacks, installing new sinks, urinals and toilets, pipework (copper or PVC)
• Carpentry – hanging doors, new locks, architrave, window frames, boxing in, assembling furniture
• Tiling – floors, walls and Carpet tiles
• Painting & Decorating
• Basic lighting
• Plastering 
• Fixing Furniture
• Hanging Pictures & Shelves

• Knowledge of commercial building maintenance
• An understanding of most building fabric duties (Plumbing, Painting, Carpentry, Basic Electrical, etc)
• A desire to get into maintenance.
• Good communication skills
• Health & Safety experience
• Basic PC literacy, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, smartphone use)
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service
• Self-motivation with the ability to manage tight time constraints and prioritise workload
