Early Years Practitioner - Basingstoke Nursery

For this role we are open to discussing options of reduced hours and varied working patterns.

We are looking for 2 Early Years Practitioners.

Would you like to be part of a dynamic, friendly and supportive team who make a real difference to the lives of families? Basingstoke Nursery is a vibrant inclusive day care nursery for up to 90 children.

As an Early Years Practitioner you will be supporting both disabled and non-disabled children from 6months to 5 years and have the opportunity to learn new skills and build your experience.



What you’ll be doing
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for supporting disabled children and their families within a nursery setting including leading a room and helping to develop an exciting environment where children can achieve and really enjoy learning.

We’ll also rely on you to act as a key worker for a small group of children, build positive relationships with them and their families and support each child’s social and emotional wellbeing.

Helping them to develop independence and foster relationships with their peer group will be important too.

And, when it comes to working with the team to continuously strive to achieve outstanding outcomes for children while being sensitive to their individual needs.

What you’ll need
A great opportunity to develop your skills in a rewarding role and gain a strong sense of achievement, you’ll need to be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and have a proven ability to work with children under 5 years in a nursery or home environment.

Experience of following the Early Years Foundation stage is also required as well as having knowledge of safeguarding children.

You’ll need to be comfortable working within the Ofsted framework and as part of a dynamic team.

Experience of working with disabled children, or a keen interest in developing in this area of learning, is also required.
