Water Technician

Mobile Water Technician - Glasgow - Salary up to 28K DOE 

CBW have a new opportunity for an experienced mobile water technician to service a variety of maintenance contracts throughout the Central Belt region.  You will be working within the environmental team and will have exposure to many different contracts including : schools, NHS sites, offices and retail to name a few.  

Hours of work:

Monday - Friday 08.00 - 17.00 

Duties and responsibilities : 

• To carry out the following works in accordance with the requirements of ACOP L8, BS6700
  and the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations:-
• Hot and cold water temperature monitoring
• Shower head cleans and disinfections
• Calorifier base flushing/calorifier temperatures, including flow and return
• Calorifier internal inspections
• Water sampling
• Tank and down water services disinfections/chlorination
•  Dead-leg removal
• Cold water tank replacement (not plumbing in)
• Cold water tank lining
• Cooling tower clean and disinfections
• Drawing of water systems schematics and the preparation and completion of job sheets
• TMV Testing
•  Improvements/upgrading of domestic systems to fall within A.C.O.P L8 guidelines
•  Conducting Legionella Risk Assessments and carrying out monitoring for the control of legionella
•  Additional duties such as inspections of water storage tanks, hot water boilers and air conditioning systems

•  Sound understanding of requirements under Health and Safety Legislation
• Use of PDA and computer literate
• A good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to interface with people, including clients, at all levels
•  Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise tasks
• Background in legionella Control with several years’ experience in site monitoring and testing.
• Water sampling and testing experience
•  Knowledge of Pool plant and equipment
