Principal Contracts Manager - Fixed Term Contract 2 years

Using your professional skills you will be responsible for leading your team in:

  • the operation of a strategic portfolio of mine water treatment assets and data gathering sites.
  • ensuring effective management, control and governance of service delivery partners.
  • delivering a service valued at £14m to £17m.

  • supporting innovative programmes that benefit local communities.
  • informing the organisations future strategy
  • delivering our 3 year business plan. 
Collaborating at all levels with internal and external partners, you will influence our strategic objectives.

Working with your team you will support delivery of sustainable solutions that improve and protect water quality.

This will include the management and creation of new water based habitats.
As a key member of our leadership team, you will have the opportunity to build on your existing skills.

You will be responsible for guiding your teams development to meet new challenges and maximise new opportunities. 
You will lead by example, promoting high performance, in an open and honest culture of: Trusted, Inclusive and Progressive. 
 
Ideally you will have experience of water utility based operations.

Experience of NEC contract management would also be beneficial.

About The Role
 
As part of the the Environment Strategy and Sustainability Department your team cuts across the Coal Authority's activities, working with other departments to:
 
  • protect people and the environment
  • delivery sustainable outcomes that improve the life of the communities we serve.
  • support programmes that deliver outcomes for commercial partners and improve the sustainability of our operational activities.
  • support your Head of Department in leading colleagues.
 
You will be responsible for understanding current best practice and ensuring compliance with environmental permits at our operational sites, ensuring the highest standards of contract management and financial governance. 
 
As a great leader, you will coach, support and aid the development of your team to meet the challenges of an every changing world.
 
Working with our service delivery partners, you will be responsible for the delivery of an annual programme valued at circa £14m to £17m. 
 
You will use your excellent communication skills to build on existing good relationship with customers and stakeholders and help further promote the beneficial work the Coal Authority delivers for the communities we serve.
  
Please note that this role will require a basic DBS check
