E-commerce Web Developer
AlloyGator is acknowledged worldwide as the market leader in on-vehicle wheel protection and is approved by major vehicle manufacturers including Toyota, Peugeot, Citroen and more.
To take AlloyGator to the next level, we are seeking out a highly capable, experienced e-commerce Web Developer to design and build a new e-commerce (multi-site) website.
You will work alongside other departments to research, design and develop an e-commerce format with strong focus on the sales funnel, that can be replicated and regionalised for our various distribution partners around the globe and managed through a single network access.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Working as part of a pivotal team within our business, you will help to build AlloyGator's next-generation digital profile by focusing on the redesign of our eCommerce (WooCommerce) WordPress website to ensure that it achieves the vision set out by the team within its design documents.
The candidate must work well in a small team environment, and be confident, driven, and personable.
You will work across the full suite of digital activity, and whilst we will be using a multi-site WordPress theme.
You will have a minimum of 3 years professional experience in building and supporting customer facing UX across multiple devices, webviews and browsers.
You will be knowledgeable in PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript and C# programming languages.
You will demonstrate strong ownership and drive, together with excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
An understating of solid design principles, Pair Programming, OOP and TDD plus a keen desire to learn new technologies and systems would be advantageous.
You'll work alongside key personnel to implement, execute, and enhance work created and will be able to test work to ensure excellent user experience.
You will update the project team on the development of the project, whilst also contributing to the ongoing design processes.
, Design, development, and maintenance of our customer-facing websites built with WordPress and, ideally, be able to integrate them with a variety of internal and external programmes including Microsoft Dynamics 365, WooCommerce, HotJar, and Google Analytics.
, Transferring the current website, including back-end databases into this new design.
This will include URL redirection and other required tasks.
, Developing well-functioning pages and flows, with a focus on great UX, page speed optimisation and browser/device compatibility.
, Delivering quality bug-free code on our WordPress/WooCommerce website and ensuring that the experience works fluidly whether on desktop or mobile.
, Amending, fixing, and customising WordPress and WooCommerce templates whilst adding creative flair to front-end templates, over and above any static designs that may be available.
, Producing technical documentation ensuring that the product can be maintained by external agencies and/or in-house throughout the life cycle of the website.
, API integrations like Google Analytics etc.
, Attending weekly meetings and reporting on the progress of the development and ensuring that the entire team is kept up to date on the progress of the new website.
Required Qualifications and Experience
, In-depth knowledge of front-end as well as back-end programming languages, excellent management skills, and a keen eye for aesthetics.
In all, to become the ideal candidate you should be able to create user-friendly websites that abide by the functionalities and design specifications of our brand and adhere to the quality standards of the organisation.
, Proven recent experience as a Front and Back-End Web Development delivering a WordPress theme with built-in integration with WooCommerce and CRM Systems.
, Server Management and Website Migration.
, Theme and plugin installation, as well as ensuring compatibility with future WordPress versions.
, UX skills and a good eye for design, with a solid understanding of marketing and how to communicate a message and call-to-actions in a clear, concise and effective manner.
, WCAG Accessibility testing.
, Extensive understanding of core languages and markup: HTML5, CSS, PHP & JavaScript.
, The ability to develop a website that works equally well on desktop and mobile.
Working Conditions
Hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 to 2.30pm Friday (37.5) with excellent holidays and benefits.
Whilst this role has the option for some hybrid working, it is essential that the applicants are willing to work on-site for at least 50% of the working week.
Salary: Between £28,000 and £35,000 depending on experience.
