Sirona Medical's Social Work Department are recruiting for a MASH Social Worker to provide a social work service to children and families arising out of the Council's duties and powers under legislation and regulations on behalf of the Department specified in the Children's Act 2004, Every Child Matters and such other legislation as is or may be appropriate to work with children and their families.

To work on a busy Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) progressing initial referrals from professionals and member(s) of the public according to strict timescales.

The role involves the collation and analysis of information, professional communication with partners to obtain information about children and families to assist in decision making, a good knowledge of handling sensitive information and working with confidentiality is essential, promoting the professional face of the council by effective communication with members of the public and partner agencies, an ability to hold difficult conversations about child protection concerns as the initial professional discussing concerns with family members and working enthusiastically to make decisions within the council’s ethos of ‘getting it right the first time’.

Candidates must have substantial experience as a social worker and be able to manage complex information from a number of sources.
