About The Role
Do you have a good understanding of homelessness and/or experience of working with homeless individuals and/or supporting vulnerable people or groups and empowering them to develop their skills, strengths and talents?

Then join the Salvation Army Housing Association (Saha) as a Housing Management Officer and you could soon be playing a vital role key working a caseload of  people who are currently homeless or have recently experienced homelessness.

The Housing Management Officer will provide an efficient, responsive and sensitive housing management service for new and existing clients within Abbott Lodge to include overseeing the management of client arrears, repairs and maintenance to the buildings and health & safety and compliance.
The Housing Management Officer will also provide general administrative support to the Management team to include financial transactions, invoicing, stock control and ordering supplies.

Working in a psychologically informed environment (training will be provided), we’ll rely on you to engage creatively with clients who have experienced homelessness in order to help them grow their strengths and talents.

Indeed, with your help, they’ll be able to develop the skills and resources required to transform their lives.

On any given day you might be helping a client sustain their accommodation, manage their license agreement or improve their understanding of financial management.

Whatever it takes, in fact, to enable them to enjoy better health and well being and move on to independent living, in a role where applying safeguarding principles and practices will be at the core of everything you do.


About The Candidate

You can also bring energy and passion, plus a positive, can do attitude in your genuine desire to help transform lives.

A proven ability to motivate young people to recognise and unlock their talents to enable them to achieve their full potential is vital too.

As well as being able to engage and relate to people, you have a high level of resilience plus an innate ability to build trusting, professional relationships.

What’s more, you have a good idea of the wider community resources and organisations available to support clients and are comfortable dealing with difficult or complex situations.

Last but not least, you must be willing to participate in a shift rolling rota system over 7 days.
