As an Optometrist your key responsibilities include:



  • Conducting pre- and post-operative assessment on patients attending after referral for cataract surgery

  • Conducting pre-op assessment on those patients referred for Laser YAG capsulotomy

  • Obtaining informed consent in a professional and ethical manner

  • Take part in the hospital “on call” and weekend rota

  • Ensuring your clinical area is prepared; ensuring all equipment is checked and ready for use; restoring your clinical area to order at the end of a clinic

  • Undertake intermediate life support (ILS) training

  • Work alongside the diagnostic team in the day to day running of clinics

  • Undertake the role of discharge person when required

  • Excellent communications skills both Verbal and Non-Verbal

The successful Optometrist will receive an excellent salary is up to £60,632 per annum.

This exciting position is a Full Time role for 37.5 hours a week working through Days from 9am to 5pm.

You will be required to work 1 shift in every 4 Saturday's.
