Play Scheme Coordinator: Disabled children and young people services

Do you have the skills it takes to deliver planned group support to disabled children and young people and manage a small team of sessional workers in the delivery of good outcomes, plus a real desire to take the next step in your career? Then join KIDS as a Play Scheme Coordinator and you could soon be playing a big part in the future of our Bracknell and Oxford play schemes.

What you’ll be doing
Our Bracknell play scheme delivers a holiday scheme and Saturday term time service for disabled children and young people and their families.

As Play Scheme Coordinator (and our Registered Manager for Ofsted early years), you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running and coordination of the services we provide.

We’ll also rely on you to support our small after school and play scheme service in Oxford, which will involve weekly catch ups with the local Senior Practitioner leading the service via telephone and video calls, with occasional meetings in person.

One day you might be co-producing support plans, the next, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures or promoting our work.

Crucially, you’ll ensure that the needs of children, young people and their families are met.

Recruiting, supervising and developing staff and volunteers, promoting the work of KIDS and identifying new opportunities for service development – all are aspects of this vital role.

As coordinator you will be working alongside senior support workers to ensure the appropriate level of future planning and communicating plans to families and social care leads in the local authorities.

The senior support staff will lead the direct delivery of the service with the coordinator providing cover support and observations of service delivery.

This is a full time role mainly based in our local Bracknell office - although we support hybrid working.
