Deputy Ward Manager - PD Unit

An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Deputy Ward Nurse Manager - PD Unit to work in a spectacular hospital based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester area.

The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care and treatment for patients with challenging and complex needs, in order to enable their recovery and re-engagement with the community

As the Deputy Ward Nurse Manager your key responsibilities include:



  • To promote, monitor and implement standards for patient care within the ward/unit environment, evaluating through clinical governance and audit

  • Provide clinical leadership, positive role modelling to the ward team, ensuring effective communication across the multidisciplinary team, through supervision, mentoring and appraisal

  • Ensure all CPA, risk assessment, HONOS/HoNOSCA and any other agreed outcome measures are an integral part of the patients care and that these are monitored and updated on a regular basis Develop and lead regular patient feedback mechanisms e.g.

    satisfaction surveys, outcome studies, community meetings, patient forums

  • Ensure that all nursing staff provide an appropriate care plan which is written with the patient and that the patients progression against these are documented within care notes

  • Undertakes regular audits to assess the quality of care given to the patients on his/her ward and presents these within Clinical Governance



The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:



  • Experienced in delivering and receiving supervision

  • Excellent leadership skills

  • Able to assess and prioritise clinical situations

  • Effective communication between medical and nursing staff both verbal and written is a key element of this role



The successful Deputy Ward Nurse Manager will receive an excellent salary of £35,587.60 per annum.

This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week.
